1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of paranoidandready.com (the "site"), run under the name Paranoid and Ready from Lisbon, Portugal ("we", "us"). By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Purchases are also governed by the purchase sections below. If you buy as a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection law of your country.

2. What the site offers
The site publishes guides, checklists and product recommendations on emergency preparedness, and sells a digital Action Plan. Using the site is free of charge and does not require an account.
3. Using the site
You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:
- use the site in any way that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or its data, or interfere with its operation or security;
- use automated means in a way that places an unreasonable load on the site or circumvents its technical measures;
- send us or submit through the site any content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive or that infringes the rights of others;
- present yourself as connected with us, or present our content as your own.
4. Information, not professional advice
The content of the site is general information, published in good faith. It is not tailored to your circumstances and is not professional advice. You are responsible for how you use it.
Emergencies and safety. In an emergency, follow the instructions of the authorities and emergency services, and call your local emergency number (112 in the European Union, 911 in the United States). Tools, equipment, fuel, stoves, generators, chemicals and self-defence items can cause injury, fire or damage if used wrongly: follow the manufacturer's instructions and all safety warnings. The laws on owning, storing, carrying and using such items differ between countries and regions, and it is your responsibility to check what is lawful where you live.
Health. Nothing on the site is medical advice or a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by a qualified professional. Information on first aid, medicines and supplies is general. Seek proper first aid training, check medicines and doses with a doctor or pharmacist, and respect expiry dates.
Money. Nothing on the site is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any asset, including precious metals. The value of any asset can fall as well as rise, and past performance is no guide to the future. Consider independent professional advice before making financial decisions. We may earn a commission from some of the providers mentioned, as explained under "Affiliate links".
Products we mention. Products recommended or linked on the site are made and sold by third parties, not by us. Check the specifications, suitability and safety of any product for your own needs before buying. Prices and availability are those shown by the retailer at the time of purchase.
5. Accuracy and availability
We aim to keep the site accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete, correct or free of errors at all times. We may change, update or remove content, and we may suspend or discontinue the site or any part of it. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available. 6. Affiliate links
Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission from the retailer, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not decide what we recommend.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
When you buy through an affiliate link, your contract is with the retailer, and the retailer's terms, prices and policies apply.
7. Buying a digital product
Seller and checkout. Digital products are sold through Gumroad, which runs the checkout, takes the payment and handles sales taxes. The terms of Gumroad apply to the payment. Each product page describes the content, the format and the price. The final price, including any taxes, is shown at checkout before you pay.
Contract and delivery. The contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed. The product is delivered as a download or access link, shown after payment and sent to your email address.
Your licence. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the product for your own purposes. You may keep copies on your own devices and print it for your own use. You may not resell, share, publish, upload or otherwise distribute it, in whole or in part. All rights in the product remain with us.
Right of withdrawal. As a consumer in the European Union you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a contract concluded at a distance. For digital content not supplied on a physical medium, this right ends once the download or access begins, if you expressly agreed to the immediate supply and acknowledged that you would lose your right of withdrawal. If that consent was not obtained at checkout, you may withdraw within 14 days of your purchase by writing to hello@paranoidandready.com, and we will refund you in full.
If something is wrong. If a product cannot be downloaded or opened, or does not match its description, write to hello@paranoidandready.com. We will fix or replace it within a reasonable time, and if we cannot, we will refund you. This does not affect your statutory rights.
8. Intellectual property
The content of the site, including its text, images, graphics, logos, design, layout and the selection and arrangement of its content, belongs to us or to our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may view it, print or save pages for your personal use, share links to it, and quote short passages if you name Paranoid and Ready and link to the source. Any other use requires our prior written permission. Names and trademarks of third parties belong to their owners; mentioning them does not imply any endorsement by or relationship with them.
9. Links to other websites
The site links to websites run by others. We are not responsible for their content, availability, products or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, the site or its content, from the site being unavailable, or from products or websites of third parties. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Portugal. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. We will always try to resolve a disagreement with you directly first.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms when our services or the law change. The effective date at the top shows when they were last changed. The version in force when you use the site applies. A purchase is governed by the version in force when you placed the order.
